Manike++a, positive people, positive world

From the reuse of the fire hose, designer Paolo Pasqualin creates a series of refined products. This is how MANIKE++A was born; unused tubes are recovered and transformed into glasses, bags and footwear. Artisanal products keep “handmade” alive, the uniqueness of each single piece is a sign of authenticity and particularity that starts from the processing of recycled material. The fire hose is manually cut, hemmed and fine-tuned resulting in a series of exclusive items. Below I propose an interview with Paolo Pasqualin on his MANIKE++A project.

The MANIKE++A brand was born from an original idea by designer Paolo Pasqualin: reusing the tubular hose of fire hydrants. Pasqualin recovers unused tubes and transforms them into shoes, bags and glasses. These are handcrafted, authentic and special accessories, which arise from manual processing of recycled materials. The fire hose is cut by hand, hemmed and reshaped to obtain a shoe, a pair of glasses, a bag. The linings and details are made with top quality Italian materials, from leather to zips.

MANIKE++A means “positive people positive world”, never stopping in the face of difficulties, see the economic situation of our system, always believing in something, in something new, proposing and getting involved in all aspects of life . The two pluses are the symbol of MANIKE++A, from which the slogan derives: “positive people, positive world”. Manike++a is not just a fashion brand but a lifestyle.

Manike++a – Handmade in Italy

The term MANIKE++A stands for a thick, compact, fireproof and waterproof tube made of polyester and rubber. From a fire-fighting hose Paolo Pasqualin drew the name of the brand he created, and, once processed by hand, the salvage leads to the creation of sneakers, bags, eye glasses and bike accessories.
