Sorgente Arcobaleno – Hartwig Thaler + Pino Pin

The painter Hartwig Thaler and the sculptor Pino Pin are two very different artists. This exhibition called “Sorgente Arcobaleno” (“Rainbow Source”) wanted to present them together because both in their own way tell stories through images. Their works are full of references to social reality and the environment in which they live and work.

Hartwig Thaler

His visual culture is eclectic and varied but fueled mainly by knowledge of the art of northern countries. His paintings are personal and authentic, but also curiously pregnant with distant echoes, nourished by a culture that draws on contemporaneity and with particular nuances of expressionism.

Pino Pin

Steel, acetate, plastic, cardboard, sand, mirrors, wood, resins, pigments are the materials that Pino Pin uses for his sculptures or installations. He likes to define himself as a conceptual artist. He loves to move from a figurative to an abstract work. He wants that the concepts and ideas expressed are more important than the aesthetic and perceptive result of the work. He loves to try his hand at projects to be built specifically for the place for which they are intended. Trying to define what Pin’s work is, if there were ever a need, is a difficult undertaking.
Is it a sprout that grows and dies, is it a palingenesis, a renaissance, is it a story in images? It is certainly the search for a dialogue and interaction between different elements and forms.
