METAFORE VISIVE (VISUAL METAPHORS) MAURA MATTIOLO, ROBERTO MARCONATO

The exhibition held at the Spazio Lazzari in Treviso from September to November proposes two parallel artistic paths which converge in the concept of “Metafore Visive (Visual Metaphors)”.
The works of the artist Maura Mattiolo give material physicality to the color white, while the installations of Roberto Marconato enclose in metal cages something familiar, recognizable, both on an individual and social level.

The informal representation of reality in Mattiolo’s white color-form ensures that the material modeled on canvas expresses a conceptual synthesis. Volumes of white combined with different elements arouse visual, tactile and even sound perceptions, considering the name of some works: baritone, tenor, soprano. Through her works Mattiolo condenses her inner experience, including moments of rupture and fragility: rips, lacerations, incisions are the testimony and visual metaphor.

MAURA MATTIOLO METAFORE VISIVE
Roberto Marconato cages objects of everyday life, stimulating the public to associate them with their own memories and alternative interpretations, such as the immovability of certain metaphorical-existential cages. For example, the cage that contains toys, bottles, marbles, pinwheels, etc. is entitled “His Majesty the Plastic” and invites us to reflect on the mass of plastic that surrounds us.

ROBERTO MARCONATO

Marconato lives and works in his hometown, Piombino Dese (PD). He began painting in 1977, mixing painting and graphics to the point of defining his art as “pictography”. Over time he focuses on his own fragmented vision of the world and a “philosophy of recovery”. Its aim is to enhance the disused, abandoned object discarded from everyday use to ennoble it in artistic installations.
The Piccolo Museo di Fighille, the Riattana art gallery and the Sénat art gallery, the Municipality of Noventa Vicentina were the protagonists of personal exhibitions. In 2005 he was selected in the patent category for “something that will change the world”: an initiative of the Sigma-Tau Foundation with the collaboration of Focus and Radio 24. His “fantasy patent” will be published in Il Sole24 Ore (2005) . Since 2009 he has animated the Circolo Spazio Estetico of Piombino Dese.
