Visioni (Visions): Ilaria Taurino – Ferruccio Tessarollo
Visioni – This exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to admire the portraits of painter Ilaria Taurino and the sculptures of Ferruccio Tessarollo.
ILARIA TAURINO – VISIONS
Taurino’s human portraits reveal the painter’s artistic research, which explores both the psychological dimension of her characters and their aesthetic semblance.
What strikes the viewer above all are the gazes of these subjects, a reflection of their state of mind.
While the gazes, faces, and hands are painted in all their depth and complexity, the rest of the bodies and clothing are sketched more rapidly.
Ilaria Taurino’s depiction of the interiority of female figures prompts reflection on their connection to the condition of women in the world.
In “Celeste e Giallo,” a girl in a light blue sweater holds a yellow rose in her hands: those colors remind us of the Ukrainian flag, a metaphor for the hope for peace we cannot give up.
Each face depicted by Ilaria Taurino expresses an existential condition that transcends the individual.
The work “Woman, Life, Freedom” recalls the Iranian question: the cutting of hair represents the double of the woman with herself.
FERRUCCIO TESSAROLLO – VISIONS
Ferruccio Tessarollo, known as Uccio, creates his sculptures from recycled construction site waste materials, such as extruded polystyrene.
Upon contact with water and fire, this material takes on a particular material density and specific color tones.
Tessarollo’s skill lies in creating figures that seem to compose and recompose themselves before the viewer’s eyes.
These sculptures appear solid, but we soon realize that part of their contours is frayed, almost as if they are trying to free themselves of the form that defines them.
Tessarollo’s works give the impression of melting and dispersing into the air, as in the case of the fallen Icarus, suspended in an impossible flight.
