Heavy Metal
The exhibition intends to make us reflect on a prejudice that surrounds iron as a material to be used outside of construction fields and what is possible to achieve today with modern manufacturing techniques and the right craftsmanship. The Heavy Metal project was born from the desire of Marco, Jacopo and Daniele to express their creativity beyond the construction sector. Here then, in the design studio and in the laboratory where the works of Vertigo Metals are studied and created, sculptures of a purely artistic nature appear. These sculptures are made with the same design and craft techniques that are used for the production of Vertigo Metals’ stairs and furnishing accessories but their purpose, which usually aims at the fusion of aesthetics and functionality, is purely creative.
Marco Novello
Marco’s experience began with his studies at the Art Institute of Venice which led, through a long series of prestigious collaborations, to the recognition of his artistic merits with the victory of a scholarship in 1993. After completing his studies Marco he trained professionally by working for some years in family businesses but his passion for art and modern structures led him to start an independent business, thus founding Vertigo Metals.
Jacob Stefan
Having obtained the Artistic High School diploma with top marks, and graduated with honors from the specialist degree course in Industrial Product Design at the Iuav University of Venice, Jacopo began working as a freelance graphic designer and designer, joining Vertigo Metals in 2012. He has participated in numerous exhibitions including the Salone del Mobile in Milan, Abitare il Tempo in Verona and the Expobici in Padua and some of his projects have been published in magazines such as “Luce” and “Venerdì” by Repubblica.
Daniele Condello
Having completed his studies at the Liceo Artistico and the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, Daniele approached the world of design and graphics, obtaining a degree in Design, Visual and Multimedia Communications at the Iuav University of Venice. He specialized further by attending several courses at the Abate Zanetti Glass School in Murano, Venice. He worked mainly as a multimedia graphic designer and freelance videomaker until 2013, when his experience in Vertigo Metals began.
