WALTER DAVANZO
Walter Davanzo is a painter, photographer, designer, art director. Born in Treviso on March 1st, he dedicated himself to photography and painting since his youth, starting his exhibition activity in 1970 in his own city. After his scientific high school diploma, he enrolled in the D.A.M.S. of Bologna with pictorial address. After an initial abstract-informal phase, he directs his pictorial research with strong gestural components to a free and naive figuration, made of dreamlike and grotesque images between dream and reality with references to childhood, giving life to figures with a Fauve-expressionist structure. In his series “J.F. Kennedy” Davanzo recomposes the memory of US President JFK by interpreting or representing it as if it were a dream still in progress. His style is the result of his interest in German expressionism, in African art and primitive signs, in children’s graphism. He has a special predilection for the paintings of F. Bacon, Munch, Henri Manguin, Varlin, Matisse, Van Dogen, de Vlamick.
RUDY BARBORINI
The installation “Sospiri sospesi” by Rudy Barborini reminds us of the precariousness of everyday life, in which everything can change from one moment to the next. The oxygen ampoules and the tubes that convey it are intertwined and interconnected just like the lives of human beings, suspended and prey to the fragility of their own and collective lives. Barborini is an artist and photographer from Friuli. Graduated from the Liceo Artistico of Venice, he graduated in Architecture and then specialized in Design at the Polytechnic of Milan. Continuous reworkings of the image and/or its synthesis, sometimes grotesque, extensive and provocative, distinguish his work. As a film-maker, since 1969 he has made short documentaries in super 8, subsequently from the years 1980 to 2016 he produced as “ArtEurop” (Association des artistes de Europe): films and videos relating to his own research in art, collaborating with various artists, actors and poets; among the best known: the Venetian glass-sculptor and poet Alessandro Cadamuro, the sculptor Valter Fingolo and the painter Saturno Butò etc. Barborini works as an art director and takes care of images for important companies in industry and fashion.
