Modesign-Fashion at IUAV 2014
From 2 to 4 July 2014 the second edition of Modesign-Fashion at IUAV 2014 will take place in Treviso: the historic center of the city will be animated by meetings, debates, art exhibitions, culinary events, performances and fashion shows. Students, recent graduates, public institutions, international designers, sector journalists, large fashion brands, local businesses, trade associations, shops, galleries, historical and artistic spaces, restaurants and many other supporters of the project in collaboration with the University will be involved. The vocation of the city of Treviso for fashion and design, in all their varied forms, is now recognized internationally. It is no coincidence that the IUAV University of Venice also opened its own branch in Treviso in 2005, involving international professionals in teaching and encouraging links and synergies between the Treviso business world and the creative one, starting with university students. The designers of the future will thus have the opportunity to deal with a production fabric that is already open and receptive towards those with cutting-edge creative and technical thinking.
The Graduation Shows, the end-of-course parades that constitute the “heart” of the three-day event, are the final stage of a training course that blends know-how with knowing how to think, gives life to individual and collective work, promotes The use of different tools and languages in a perspective that considers all aspects of artisanal and industrial production.
Modesign/Fashion at IUAV 2014: a “festival” of fashion understood as a complex system of thought, ready to welcome and develop interdisciplinary contaminations (art, architecture, food), open to dialogue with citizens.
Modesign-Fashion at IUAV 2014 is a project of the IUAV University of Venice / Department of Project Culture with the patronage of the City of Treviso and is promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso, Treviso Glocal, Ascom Confcommercio Treviso, Coldiretti, Confartigianato Marca Trevigiana, Unindustria Treviso ; with MIBACT Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism – Treviso State Archives, Marzotto Project Association, ORIGIN, Vicenza Fair, Cassamarca Foundation, MISA Italian Association of Fashion Studies, Ichinomiya Fashion Design Center (Japan).
