OLTRE LA FORMA – CHIARA COLTRO + LUCA PEGORARO

The exhibition Oltre la Forma – Chiara Coltro + Luca Pegoraro underway at the Spazio Lazzari in Treviso compares, or rather in mutual relationship, the pictorial works of the Paduan artist Chiara Coltro with the plastic and imposing sculptures of her compatriot Luca Pegoraro. The chromatic sedimentation of Coltro’s paintings dialogues with the dynamic fluidity of Pegoraro’s installations, arousing emotional effects that go beyond the shape of a support, a subject, a material.

The painter Chiara Coltro understands art as an expression of the self. She has got an informal art style. It’s rooted in the relationships between color and matter, in the different results obtained depending on the support used, in the variety of visual perceptions stimulated by different surfaces. The Paduan artist uses irregular supports, made of jute canvas, whose roughness is often visible in the artist’s works. Coltro takes a deliberately slow creative process, developed through successive phases and stratifications of material. One of the recurring themes in her works is Nature. For Coltro it is an artistic-emotional dimension in which the mind, body and environment can relate and find a virtuous balance.

Luca Pegoraro creates installations and plastic sculptures of considerable size. The artist works on his ideas first on paper, drawing them in a style with clear surrealist references. To create them, favor materials such as PVC, plexiglass, plastic, glass, iron, aluminium. The “Ballerina” installation represents a concentration of resistance, fragility, freedom, lightness…
It is made of weathering steel, a material that oxidizes but does not corrode, and Murano glass inserts.

CHIARA COLTRO

Paduan artist who began her creative activity as a stylist and model maker. Coltro attended the Umberto Menin School and numerous artistic workshops including the one with Andreas Kramer. She collaborated with the Artemisia Association. She founded the F.A.C. Cultural Center and in 2020 she opened her Studio-Gallery “Chiara Coltro Arte”. In 2020, together with other artists, she founded the cultural association Reitia-Art.

LUCA PEGORARO

From Padua, a master of the goldsmith’s art, he began his career as a sculptor in the nineties. He has curated and participated in numerous exhibitions in the city of the Saint: “Colore Trasformazione Immagine” (2016), “Sinergie” (2017), “Chapeau” (2018), “Artegrafando” and “Percorsi Artistici” (2021), “Exit Posta San Giovanni” (2022), “Ars in Tempo-re” (2023).
